If Your Lights Randomly Go Out, Don’t Worry – You’re Not Haunted
A customer called needing his basement recessed lights repaired. He said they started dimming and then just shut off and wouldn’t turn back on.
This seems to be a common problem with recessed lights – once they get too hot, they shut off. If this is happening to you, it could mean that you have an insulation issue where it is surrounding the recessed lights causing it to get to hot.
Another reason the lights could get too hot is if you are using a halogen bulb. These types of bulb produce a much higher temperature than an incandescent bulb. Speaking of bulbs, you could also check to make sure you aren’t using a bulb with wattage higher than what is recommended for the fixture you have. If you are using the correct wattage, try lowering it and see if that solves the problem.
If none of these issues seem to be the reason your lights are dimming and/or shutting off, call Raynor Services today so we can fix the problem for you!
